      Living in Oregon, no money, run-down apartment. Start a sculpture about death; man dying in a stream surrounded by plants, fish, frogs. Gold box casket and hands are six pallbearers we need to carry us out:
@ Life is short, a thin line of bright color pressed between layers of darkness. Death is long. @
      As I work, the piece gets better, brightens, mixes with life.. Hands become waving silhouettes lifted in praise:
@ Gently weave the earthtone threads of humans, animals, and plants into a precious tapestry of joy. @
